Authentic Christ-Centered Worship, Study, and Sometimes Just Plain Silliness!

Our Mission

St. Andrew's Lutheran Church and Campus Center is a congregation of Christ's holy people here to proclaim our Lord's saving Word and administer His life-giving Sacraments. In response to God's grace we have been blessed with a unique mission at a pivotal and transitional point in young people's lives. We rejoice in the opportunities that our gracious God- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, has given us to speak His Gospel in and around the University of Wyoming community. The name of our congregation was chosen with good reason. Not only was Andrew the first apostle to follow Christ, but moreover, he was the first apostle to bring someone else to Christ:
Again, the next day, John (the Baptist) stood with two of his disciples. And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, "Behold the Lamb of God!"The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, "What do you seek?" They said to Him, "Rabbi (which is to say, when translated, Teacher) where are You staying?" He said to them, "Come and see."; They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (about the tenth hour). One of the two who heard John speak and followed Him was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found His brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah (which is translated, the Christ)."; And he brought him to Jesus." [St. John 1:35-40]
This is ultimately what we are about as God's holy people in this place. While one's college years are often quite fulfilling, they can also be trying and troubling. As one furthers their education, seeks a God-pleasing vocation and learns to live on their own, the need for a solid grounding in God's Word and Sacraments, and the fellowship of God's people only increases and intensifies. Therefore, at the center of life at St. Andrew's is the worship of Christ Jesus, the very Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Through His resurrection from the dead, we are given life in His Name. In, by, and through God's grace, that very life is what is cultivated here through faithful Christ-centered worship, insightful Biblical study, and solid Lutheran catechesis. Healthy Christian relationships are fostered as students and young adults are involved in the life of the congregation, as we seek to encourage one another, and follow the example of St. Andrew, in bringing others to Christ. So just as our Lord issued the invitation to "Come and See", we urge you to do likewise! We invite you to come to St. Andrew's and share with us in these gifts and so to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that together we may proclaim the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light.
